More awards..

Today since I have a little bit of time to spend in front of my laptop (ops!today is a weekend holiday here :) ), I think it is a good idea to collect all the awards given by my blogging friends since the past few weeks..Sorry my dear friends only now I have the time to put the awards up here..but as usual better late than never right? :)

My first award this time around came from my dear blogging Friend...NOUSHY!

Art Prize and Award
"This prize has arisen from the daily visits that I dedicate to many blogs which nourish me and enrich me with creativity. In them I see dedication, creativity, care, comradeship, but mainly, ART, much art. I want to share this prize with all those bloggers that entertain me day to day and to share this prize with those who enrich me every day. Doubtlessly, there are many and it will be hard to pick just a few, the people I will name today deserve this prize, as do the very long serious list of bloggers I also enjoy to read, but I will name the first 10 and will leave the rest of the work to all the bloggers that visit other's blogs and are nourished by them."

Thank you Noushy for a very encouraging award even though I'm quite sure that my blog has nothing to be proud of in terms of art. However, I will make sure that this award will reminds me to beautify and put some art work to it in future :) Again to Noushy..TQ very much!

Ops! It also came with some rules....

The rules of passing on this award are as follows:

1. post award in your own blog

2. indicate its origin and a link to the site: Arte Y Pico from Uruguay.

3. give it to 5 blogs that you enjoy.

OK..I enjoy reading many blogs..but I guess I will pass this award on to the blogs that i think they have not receive this award yet...(I rasa je tau..tak check betul2 pun :) if they already have it..they deserve to be given it the 2nd time)..

To Kak Norz, Dina, Lizah, Kak Long and Shieda...I always enjoy reading your blogs!

The 2nd award..'You'll always have a room in my heart Award' from my dear best friend...FARAH!

Thanks buddy...I will always remember you and your lovable blog!

Now come to my latest award which I received it 2 days ago...from DINA.

Thanks Dina to include me in this '100 top mom blogs award'...

The next is 'Peace Award'...

Yeay LJ...Peace to you and peace to the world!
Thanks to all my blogging friends and thanks for making me feel welcome into this blogging world even though I'm a newcomer.

ISO 9001:2000 surveillance audit is coming!!!

Huh! That is the last thing I want to know...Surveillance Audit by SIRIM. Oh ya, let me tell you..
My office (District Health Office) and all the clinics under it have ISO 9001:2000 certification. I think most of us know about this quality management system (QMS). I've been involved in this area since 2 years ago when my friend resigned her position as 'Management Representative' a.k.a MR. I was then appointed to replace her. It is a very tough position and needs a lot of, time, energy, family and etc.
As a MR my job is to coordinate all the quality management system (QMS) related activities such as internal audits, Management Review Meeting (MRM), continual improvement and training. Talking about training, each year I have to organise at least 2 times training for our new staff regarding awareness of ISO 9001:2000 in our department apart from other Management Courses . Usually I will be busy preparing for it at the beginning of the year and this year we will have it once on this coming 24th of March and the next one in July. I found that this course (Awareness of ISO 9001:2000) is very useful for our new staff because in that course we will try to introduce them what is ISO 9001:2000 and how it is done in our department. It will help them to do their job efficiently and also comply to the QMS that we had already developed. As for me, I've gained a lot of experiences through handling this course. Although it is tiring but I found that I'm incline towards this admin job compared to clinical job..hehehe but that doesn't mean that I hate seeing patients :)
To my dear reader wish me luck ya for my next surveillance audit..hopefully there's no non-conformity found.

All down with URTI :(

I've been quite busy since the start of this week, with clinic sessions and also few paperworks. On Tuesday Aiman started to feel unwell. He had left periorbital swelling (swelling around his eye) most probably due to allergic reaction but we still cannot find the cause. We gave him some antihistamines and he then 'knockout'! and the swelling gradually subsided. Later that day he started having blocked nose and cough. His condition worsen at night with high fever and cough with a lot of phlegm. Yesterday he did not go to the school coz he felt very lethargic..and then, the second victim Afiq started to experience the symptoms. High grade fever, runny nose, poor feeding..Oh dear! I'm worry about his weight too..because in an infant if he/her feeds poorly only for a day you'll see the effect drastically. We just gave him antipyretic to tackle down the fever and we have not yet start him on any antibiotic since his symptoms look like of a virus in origin. Danial also experienced the same symptoms minus the fever (lucky for him). Then, my hubby started to have cough..but not too bad just like mine. A little throat discomfort and mild bodyache. We are all down with URTI ! A very common infection.

Today everybody is in a recovery period...Aiman still having cough, Danial too and Afiq still left with mild runny and hubby are much better compared to 2 days ago. Hopefully by this Saturday everything will go off..Amin.

Tagged again..and again.

I was tagged by ladyjava to spread this message about love and peace. Nobody in his/her normal state of mind would want war...but it still happens. In other words...those ppl who create war are INSANE !!

Since this is to spread the love and peace...I would like all my blogging friends to spread this message....come on guys..make love not war !

The rules:
1. If you get tagged or not (and want to play along), take some minutes to meditate about love and peace, pray for countries that are facing troubles, for those people you love and those you don’t.
2. Write a post with links to blogs that you think would like to participate.
3. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme.

Peace is not a relationship of nations. It is a condition of mind brought about by serenity of soul. Peace is not merely the absence of war. It also a state of mind. Lasting peace can come only to peaceful people-jawaharlal Nehru

Next, I was tagged by Farah to reveal my wedding photos....

Only these 2 were approved by my hubby to be published... :)

My wedding ceremony was held on 14th April 2001 in Alor Setar Kedah and 21st April 2001 in Johor Bahru Johor..

Monkey attack!

This is not a scene in the zoo...this is behind my house! At the back of my house there is a thick bushes where the monkeys live. Everyday they will come and sit under that tree and making a lot of noise. My kids love to watch them play among themselves. Sometimes there were 20-30 of them playing there..
Garangnya muka dia..besar daripada Afiq dia ni!

What would you do with if you have 25500 pound?

Do you think the title for my post today is a bit weird? It is because I found this website Boob Job reported that a couple spent that amount of money for self-improvement surgery! Gosh! With that amount of money, I can renovate my kitchen! How about you? Will you spend that money for self-improvement surgery?

Everybody wants to look beautiful either physically or spiritually. It cannot be denied that beauty can affect your confidence and sometimes your success! Thus, there are people who are willing to spend thousands of dollars just to be beautiful. Most probably for them happiness is when you feel that you are beautiful and look why not doing the surgery to make sure that they are beautiful and bring happiness to them. ..right?
There are people who feel that beauty is not the issue to pay much attention on and it doesn't determine the happiness.
My personal opinion is.. if you are happy with what you are doing even though it means that you have to spend a lot of money..then, do it! me?? Oh If I have that much of course I won't splurge on plastic surgery..errr may be a family holiday? Yes! a nice family holiday will make me and my family happy and definitely we are going for it.

A Lunch at TGI Friday's

It has been quite some time we didn't bring our kids for a nice lunch out. This weekend we decided to take them to Queensbay Mall Penang for a took about 1 hour to reach there. We left home at 11am and at that time everybody felt so sleepy (My kids are always like that..when they got into the car they started to feel sleepy)

Danial with his sleepy face..

Afiq quietly sat in his carseat

This time around we planned to have it at TGI Friday's..enjoy the photos guys!

Luckily there were some kids puzzle to be they won't feel restless before the meals were served..see, aiman is holding a pen.

We were busy attending to the kids and no time to snap a pic..LOL.
Anyway, here is our dessert ..Cookies and cream! Btw, we had barbecued beef ribs, some smoked chicken with brown rice, chicken wings and two kiddies meal..So full!

Before we stepped out of the restaurant, Aiman and Danial were given the balloons by the waitress..2 each! They were very happy and enjoyed their lunch.

After the lunch we went to Borders..because both hubby and me love this bookstore. Danial and Aiman were very excited too because they can pick up any book at children section, sit and browsed through the book..After spending about 1 hour in the bookstore we went back home. Although the lunch trip was quite tiring but everybody was happy :)

How I met my next anniversary!

I was 21 years old when I met my hubby in 1998. (Ops! now you know my age already :) ). We were coursemate at the University. Initially I was not interested in him because he is younger than me, so why we were coursemate then? The answer was.. I did my pre university matriculation for 2 years and he did it for 1 year (he must be that briliant guy huh to be able to do it only for a year :) )
Apart from that I used to have another special friend at that time so I did not really bother about him when he first approched me.Heehhehe don't worry... he knows about this now :).
One day I realised that my special friend at that time was not meant for me...My feelings towards him faded day by day...I don't know why but may be just because we were not meant for each other.
After I broke up with him I found that this guy (my hubby) was still there for me...and we went out few times before we actually fell in love...
He is a very straight forward type of person, a caring guy and loves children very much.
Oh ya..I forgot to mention that our wedding anniversary will be on this coming April! I found that this site is very helpful if you want to find a way to write a love letters . I myself have to find one because I planned to have a holiday with my hubby (mind you..only the two of us..hehehehe) and I may give him this love letter that I write..Isn't it romantic? This site romantic ideas will surely give me the ideas on how to make my anniversary holiday a very romantic and memorable ones. Oh I put the ticker counting for my next anniversary up there...check it out ya if you want to know when exactly my anniversary. I can't wait till that day only the two of, shopping..romantic dinner..oh it sounds like heaven right?

I signed up for PPP..

My blogging history started 3 months back in December 2007 when my friend told me about it.Initially I was not that interested and to be frank I used to be very 'allergic' to computers and internet before as I wrote in one of my previous post, I was sort of envious to my hubby who is always in front of his laptop whenever I woke up at around midnight (hubby usually plays his games, CHAMPIONSHIP MANAGER and SIM CITY). That was 3 months ago. Now I have changed! My perception towards computers and internet had changed drastically. Previously I would be in front of the computer only for preparing my powerpoint presentation and searching for something medical related..and of course it took me mostly about 2 hours, but now I can spend hours and hours here and I even got my new Sony Vaio!
The fact that my post is mostly about my kids makes me more eager to write day by day and observe closely how my kids grow and picking up new things everyday in their life. Frankly I have no writer's blood in me and I don't usually describe things in detail but after I started my blog, I became more observant and will try to remember all the details of the things, which I think is very good for me.
Recently I was told by my beloved blogging friend Ladyjava that I can make extra money by blogging...I was stunned! That is really good..I can spend my time here writing about my kids and me, making cyber friends, gaining new knowledge and get paid!! Even hubby encourages me to do that...(so that he can 'steal' some of the money to pay our streamyx and electricity bills..hehehhehehe). I am now learning about paid post and everything...and you know...I signed up for PPP here drive traffic err.. about a few days ago...and my blog has been approved! Oh by now I should start dreaming what to do with the money..hep! Hubby said it is to pay the bills..:( but it's OK I can divide the money into 2..half for me half and half for the bill..OK my dear?
I really hope that that this is the best decision I made in my blogging history and I guess I'll create more blogs after this and of course gain more money...Yeay! So guys out there why wait? Go and sign up now (hehhehehe I guess PPP should pay me more huh?...really promoting them.)
To all my cyber friends do give me your opinion ya?? to your boss!

Every job in this world has its own stress but working for over demanding or unfair boss is almost unbearable working environment. Yes, you don't have to like your boss but you need to be able to communicate and co-operate with your boss in order to perform an effective and efficient job.

I've been working at my current position and workplace since the past 5 years..not to say that I don't like my boss ( but sometimes I do...Muahahahaha).. but I heard some of my colleagues and staff talking about how they were treated unfairly by my boss..which at the end when I think back..I found that my boss has her own reasons for her actions and my other colleagues also have their's.

Human is still human.. right.?They can never be perfect..and of course sometimes you make mistakes. Most of the time you didn't realise that you have hurt other's feelings..or created an uncomfortable feelings. What we need sometimes is just a better communications between the two. If you don't like his/her actions..just go ahead and discuss about your opinion and try to find a better solution which satisfies both sides.

Failure to thrive???

I went home for lunch today..and whenever I picked up Afiq..I felt that he was slightly lighter than before...I couldn't find what was wrong at that moment. After my lunch I asked hubby to bring us to the clinic so that I could weigh Afiq.
At 1.45pm we were already at the clinic, I weighed him myself...and I was shocked to see his weight! He was 5.7kg the last 3 weeks and today again it was 5.7kg! OMG.. what had happened to my Afiq...he was not gaining any weight since the past 3 weeks!
My instinct said that it might be due to his inadequate feeding given by my helper...(arghhh you are going to get it..).

I just want to share something about this condition called "Failure to thrive"(FTT) in this post.
Growth failure, or failure to thrive (FTT), is actually a descriptive term and not a specific diagnosis. In other words, it is not a disease but a condition that you may see in a child with certain disease.
On average, infants gain 1 kg/mth for the first 3 months, 0.5 kg/mth from age 3-6 months, 0.33 kg/mth from age 6-9 months, and 0.25 kg/mth from age 9-12 months. Term infants double their birth weight by age 4 months and triple their weight by age 12 months. (In my case, Afiq should gain at least 0.5kg/mth..which he failed.).
However to confirm a child is having FTT a growth chart must be plotted and serial measurement should be done. At this point I don't consider Afiq as having FTT...but if there's no action taken, then later he might go into that condition.

Causes of FTT is divided into 3 categories
1.Nonorganic FTT
2.Organic FTT
3. Combination of both nonorganic and organic
To make it clearer I shall list down some of the causes in each categories which I got it from emedicine

Nonorganic causes
Poor feeding or feeding-skills disorder
Dysfunctional family interactions
Difficult parent-child interactions
Lack of support (eg, no friends, no extended family)
Lack of preparation for parenting
Family dysfunction (eg, divorce, spouse abuse, chaotic family style)
Difficult child
Child neglect
Emotional deprivation syndrome
Feeding disorders (eg, anorexia, bulimia)

Organic cuses
Prenatal causes
Prematurity with complications
Maternal malnutrition
Toxic exposure in uteroAlcohol,
Chromosomal abnormalities
Postnatal causes
Inadequate intake
Lack of appetite (eg, iron deficiency anemia, CNS pathology, chronic infection)
Inability to suck or swallow: CNS or muscular
Vomiting (eg, CNS, metabolic, obstruction, renal)
Gastroesophageal reflux and esophagitis

Poor absorption and/or use of nutrients
GI disorder (eg, CF, celiac disease, Schwachman-Diamond syndrome, chronic diarrhea)
Renal: renal failure, renal tubular acidosis
Endocrine: hypothyroidism, diabetes mellitus, growth hormone deficiency
Inborn error of metabolism
Chronic infection (eg, HIV, tuberculosis, parasites)Increased metabolic demand
Chronic disease (eg, heart failure, BPD)
Chronic inflammatory conditions (eg, inflammatory bowel disease, lupus erythematosus)
Renal failure

(bare with all the medical terms guys..copy paste je the causes ni..anything you don't understand just ask me..hehhehhe if I knows the answer lah!)
Finally I came to a conclusion that Afiq is actually had not been given enough feeding by my helper...(nonorganic cause)
I am very frustrated because I've told her many times on how to prepare the milk, how many mililitre of milk for each feeding, how many times per day should he be given the milk..and bla bla bla....At this point of time I still have no resolution for the problem...but I will monitor her closely on how she feeds my baby tomorrow...Afiq please gain some weight....or he just want to be like her mother...heehheheh

Aiman was very excited because he knew that his friends will come to his house..and when his first guest arrived, he ran inside! (malu konon..LOLz).We could see happiness in his eyes and it is priceless.

The birthday cake..

Aiman's Birth Day...

11 February 6 years ago....

I started to feel the pain at around noon..what is that he coming? I was at home in Cheras, to be exact Condominium Prisma Perdana just beside HUKM (We rent the house there after we got married). I was in my final year doing medicine and again to be exact, a month before my final professional exam! Luckily it was my study leave. Hubby advised me to go and have a check...but I don't think that was the pain. However few hours later the pain became regular and more painful. We went to admission centre at O&G Dept. HUKM..and yes the doctor said I'm in early labour, so I was admitted to antenatal ward first. At that moment mixed feelings and thoughts came to me..will it be very-very painful? will it be going smoothly..And the thoughts were disturbed by regular contraction pain..
I couldn't even close my eyes that night...due to pain and yet it only opens 2cm..arghhhh..I could not imagine what will it be if it is fully dilated then....
At 3am I felt an intense pain...I called the nurse, and after a checked, they said that I'll be sent to labour room. At 4 am I was wheeled in to Labour room. Then the rest are history......

I gave birth to a Aiman at 9.54am on 12 february 2002..a cute 2.78kg boy...I still keep some of the his bracelets and even his umbilical cord clamp! It was a Chinesse New Year most of my relatives came to visit at the hospital..I am very blessed to have him in my life and just about a month before my final exam...(went to clinical exam with my socks!)

To Aiman, when you are old enough to read this...I just want you to know that we all love you and a very happy birthday my dear son.

A Lovable blogging friend ...Noushy.

I was surprised when I found out that NOUSHY gave me another award that makes 2 awards within a week! Thank you Noushy..and as I said before,it needs a lovable person to make others feel lovable..I feels like knowing you for a long time even though we knew each other (through Blogging) only for a month I guess...That is the miracle of friendship..I dedicate this quote for Noushy and all my blogging friends...have a great day guys and make all people around you feel lovable..

A good friend is someone we can count on, as well as being so much more.
A friend is someone with whom we can relax and just hang out, have fun and share our innermost thoughts--deep dark secrets, lofty and noble goals, our hopes, joys, and fears.
A good friend allows you a safe space to share your deepest thoughts and needs--without worry of being judged, criticized or made to feel silly for feeling the way you do.
Friends cheer each other on, laugh and cry together, and just plain commiserate and listen to each other.
That's why friends are Bettie and Jennifer Leigh Youngs.
p.s: Today a bit bz..went out looking for things to put in Aiman's bday party goody bag!..and also invitation cards...will post here when everything ready...

Planning for Aiman's Birthday Party

I'm following the step by step instruction given in planning a dinner party for 50...

1. Step One
Choose a date for your event. If you plan to honor any special guests - or there are guests on your list whose presence you particularly desire - make sure the date is convenient for them.

Aiman's birthday is on 12th February 2002..but this year we are going to hold a party on 14th of February...because it is easier for our guest to come since the next day is a holiday here. After all my hubby and me also can have a rest the next day..or else we have to take our annual leave. I don't think we have a particularly desired guest...all our guest are desired.

2. Step Two
Evaluate your space. Be sure you have enough table space and chairs in your home or reserve a space for the party elsewhere. If you have the party somewhere else, decide how you will provide the food (catered, picnic-style, using a rented hall's kitchen, and so on).

We are going to have it at home..specifically at the car porch but the guest are free to choose whether to sit outside or inside the house..About the table and chairs...we already have it(because the last Hari Raya we had an open house done and the the owner of those tables and chairs has not taken it back yet..LOL so we are going to use it for the 2nd time..

3. Step Three
Decide on your budget. Large dinner parties needn't be expensive: with a little ingenuity you can make a meal for very little money. Make your own decorations instead of ordering expensive flowers. Consider a potluck, a picnic, or other alternatives to a sit-down dinner.
This time it is not going to be a large guest is around 50..last raya open house almost 200 guest!

4 . Step Four
Choose a theme or plan table centerpieces and a color scheme.
We have no specific theme..

5 . Step Five
Make sure you have enough place settings, serving bowls and platters, serving utensils and other needed items. Borrow or rent these items if necessary.

We are going to buy paper plates only...

6. Step Six
Extend invitations, either by phone or written invitation. Give clear RSVP instructions.
Up till now I've invited few people already, Aiman's friends and their family will be invited by invitation card which I haven't buy yet...hehheehh

7 . Step Seven
Finalize your guest list by following up on guests who do not RSVP
I cannot do this until I've invited all of them...

8 .Step Eight
Make all the arrangements for any space rental, entertainment (such as a band or DJ), catering, other hired help (such as cleanup staff), photographer, flowers, or other large expenses and commitments at least two weeks before the event.

I think this step is the only thing applicable...anyway I'm going to settle it by Tuesday coz a few dish I need somebody to help me in the cooking process..not really a caterer.

9. Step Nine
Prepare a timetable for all other tasks, leaving as little as possible for the day of the event. Include space in your timetable for things that might go wrong.

I have my own timetable and I hope everything will be following that smoothly.

10. Step Ten
If you're cooking, plan each dish and make an appropriate shopping list.
This is the most important step I guess because I'm going to cook 95% of the dish...and I'm going for a shopping on Tuesday at Tesco.

After I did this, I realise that a few things need urgent finding an invitation cards and meeting with my caterer (helper actually)..ok I'll try my best to do it tomorrow..and settle everything according to what David Tutera said...To organise a party..95% of the time should be spent on planning and only 5% on the day itself....Hmmmmmm
