I signed up for PPP..

My blogging history started 3 months back in December 2007 when my friend told me about it.Initially I was not that interested and to be frank I used to be very 'allergic' to computers and internet before as I wrote in one of my previous post, I was sort of envious to my hubby who is always in front of his laptop whenever I woke up at around midnight (hubby usually plays his games, CHAMPIONSHIP MANAGER and SIM CITY). That was 3 months ago. Now I have changed! My perception towards computers and internet had changed drastically. Previously I would be in front of the computer only for preparing my powerpoint presentation and searching for something medical related..and of course it took me mostly about 2 hours, but now I can spend hours and hours here and I even got my new Sony Vaio!
The fact that my post is mostly about my kids makes me more eager to write day by day and observe closely how my kids grow and picking up new things everyday in their life. Frankly I have no writer's blood in me and I don't usually describe things in detail but after I started my blog, I became more observant and will try to remember all the details of the things, which I think is very good for me.
Recently I was told by my beloved blogging friend Ladyjava that I can make extra money by blogging...I was stunned! That is really good..I can spend my time here writing about my kids and me, making cyber friends, gaining new knowledge and get paid!! Even hubby encourages me to do that...(so that he can 'steal' some of the money to pay our streamyx and electricity bills..hehehhehehe). I am now learning about paid post and everything...and you know...I signed up for PPP here drive traffic err.. about a few days ago...and my blog has been approved! Oh by now I should start dreaming what to do with the money..hep! Hubby said it is to pay the bills..:( but it's OK I can divide the money into 2..half for me half and half for the bill..OK my dear?
I really hope that that this is the best decision I made in my blogging history and I guess I'll create more blogs after this and of course gain more money...Yeay! So guys out there why wait? Go and sign up now (hehhehehe I guess PPP should pay me more huh?...really promoting them.)
To all my cyber friends do give me your opinion ya??

Go...talk to your boss!

Every job in this world has its own stress but working for over demanding or unfair boss is almost unbearable working environment. Yes, you don't have to like your boss but you need to be able to communicate and co-operate with your boss in order to perform an effective and efficient job.

I've been working at my current position and workplace since the past 5 years..not to say that I don't like my boss ( but sometimes I do...Muahahahaha).. but I heard some of my colleagues and staff talking about how they were treated unfairly by my boss..which at the end when I think back..I found that my boss has her own reasons for her actions and my other colleagues also have their's.

Human is still human.. right.?They can never be perfect..and of course sometimes you make mistakes. Most of the time you didn't realise that you have hurt other's feelings..or created an uncomfortable feelings. What we need sometimes is just a better communications between the two. If you don't like his/her actions..just go ahead and discuss about your opinion and try to find a better solution which satisfies both sides.

Failure to thrive???

I went home for lunch today..and whenever I picked up Afiq..I felt that he was slightly lighter than before...I couldn't find what was wrong at that moment. After my lunch I asked hubby to bring us to the clinic so that I could weigh Afiq.
At 1.45pm we were already at the clinic, I weighed him myself...and I was shocked to see his weight! He was 5.7kg the last 3 weeks and today again it was 5.7kg! OMG.. what had happened to my Afiq...he was not gaining any weight since the past 3 weeks!
My instinct said that it might be due to his inadequate feeding given by my helper...(arghhh you are going to get it..).

I just want to share something about this condition called "Failure to thrive"(FTT) in this post.
Growth failure, or failure to thrive (FTT), is actually a descriptive term and not a specific diagnosis. In other words, it is not a disease but a condition that you may see in a child with certain disease.
On average, infants gain 1 kg/mth for the first 3 months, 0.5 kg/mth from age 3-6 months, 0.33 kg/mth from age 6-9 months, and 0.25 kg/mth from age 9-12 months. Term infants double their birth weight by age 4 months and triple their weight by age 12 months. (In my case, Afiq should gain at least 0.5kg/mth..which he failed.).
However to confirm a child is having FTT a growth chart must be plotted and serial measurement should be done. At this point I don't consider Afiq as having FTT...but if there's no action taken, then later he might go into that condition.

Causes of FTT is divided into 3 categories
1.Nonorganic FTT
2.Organic FTT
3. Combination of both nonorganic and organic
To make it clearer I shall list down some of the causes in each categories which I got it from emedicine

Nonorganic causes
Poor feeding or feeding-skills disorder
Dysfunctional family interactions
Difficult parent-child interactions
Lack of support (eg, no friends, no extended family)
Lack of preparation for parenting
Family dysfunction (eg, divorce, spouse abuse, chaotic family style)
Difficult child
Child neglect
Emotional deprivation syndrome
Feeding disorders (eg, anorexia, bulimia)

Organic cuses
Prenatal causes
Prematurity with complications
Maternal malnutrition
Toxic exposure in uteroAlcohol,
smoking,
medications,
infections
IUGR
Chromosomal abnormalities
Postnatal causes
Inadequate intake
Lack of appetite (eg, iron deficiency anemia, CNS pathology, chronic infection)
Inability to suck or swallow: CNS or muscular
Vomiting (eg, CNS, metabolic, obstruction, renal)
Gastroesophageal reflux and esophagitis

Poor absorption and/or use of nutrients
GI disorder (eg, CF, celiac disease, Schwachman-Diamond syndrome, chronic diarrhea)
Renal: renal failure, renal tubular acidosis
Endocrine: hypothyroidism, diabetes mellitus, growth hormone deficiency
Inborn error of metabolism
Chronic infection (eg, HIV, tuberculosis, parasites)Increased metabolic demand
Hyperthyroidism
Chronic disease (eg, heart failure, BPD)
Chronic inflammatory conditions (eg, inflammatory bowel disease, lupus erythematosus)
Renal failure
Malignancy

(bare with all the medical terms guys..copy paste je the causes ni..anything you don't understand just ask me..hehhehhe if I knows the answer lah!)
Finally I came to a conclusion that Afiq is actually had not been given enough feeding by my helper...(nonorganic cause)
I am very frustrated because I've told her many times on how to prepare the milk, how many mililitre of milk for each feeding, how many times per day should he be given the milk..and bla bla bla....At this point of time I still have no resolution for the problem...but I will monitor her closely on how she feeds my baby tomorrow...Afiq please gain some weight....or he just want to be like her mother...heehheheh

Aiman's birthday is actually on 12th February...however this year we have to make it on 14th February..the reason is simple, 14th February 2008 falls on Thursday and the next day is Friday..so hubby and me can get some times to rest on friday before we (hubby) start to work on Saturday...

Thursday 14th February 2008
Morning :
-I went to the market to buy chickens, prawns and vegetables..sent the chickens to my helper's house to be marinated.
-Went home and prepared dessert for the party (Lychee Puddings)

Afternoon:
-Took back the chickens
-went to the bakery to pick up birthday cake
-last minute shopping for snacks

3.30pm:
-Started to grill the chicken, prawns and squids.
-Fried the noodles and rice (fried noodles and fried rice)
-Started to arrange the tables and chairs

5.30pm
The party started..ops before I forget..we actually forgot to take pictures during the party because we were very busy entertaining our guest!..until the time Aiman blowed the candles..LOL...

Aiman was very excited because he knew that his friends will come to his house..and when his first guest arrived, he ran inside! (malu konon..LOLz).We could see happiness in his eyes and it is priceless.

Aiman's Birth Day...

11 February 6 years ago....

I started to feel the pain at around noon..what is that pain..is he coming? I was at home in Cheras, to be exact Condominium Prisma Perdana just beside HUKM (We rent the house there after we got married). I was in my final year doing medicine and again to be exact, a month before my final professional exam! Luckily it was my study leave. Hubby advised me to go and have a check...but I don't think that was the pain. However few hours later the pain became regular and more painful. We went to admission centre at O&G Dept. HUKM..and yes the doctor said I'm in early labour, so I was admitted to antenatal ward first. At that moment mixed feelings and thoughts came to me..will it be very-very painful? will it be going smoothly..And the thoughts were disturbed by regular contraction pain..
I couldn't even close my eyes that night...due to pain and yet it only opens 2cm..arghhhh..I could not imagine what will it be if it is fully dilated then....
At 3am I felt an intense pain...I called the nurse, and after a checked, they said that I'll be sent to labour room. At 4 am I was wheeled in to Labour room. Then the rest are history......

I gave birth to a Aiman at 9.54am on 12 february 2002..a cute 2.78kg boy...I still keep some of the memorabillias..like his bracelets and even his umbilical cord clamp! It was a Chinesse New Year Holiday..so most of my relatives came to visit at the hospital..I am very blessed to have him in my life and just about a month before my final exam...(went to clinical exam with my socks!)

To Aiman, when you are old enough to read this...I just want you to know that we all love you and a very happy birthday my dear son.
